Can J.W's Be Involved in Politics, Or Can't They?

i was always under the impression that jw's couldn't participate in politics because that would mean that they were a part of the world.

yet, i found an interesting article today suggesting that some are involved.

what i mean by this is how can they believe a baby shouldn't have both parents?

i truly believe both mother and father should be united together for their baby.

E-watchman is not disfellowshipped!?

i note that e-watchman has just confirmed that he is not disfellowshipped, despite running an 'apostate' website and having sent 1000's of letters around the us, canada, and bethels around the world.

this from his latest mailbag questions and answers:.

Take back the Kingdom Halls? What do you think?

sounds kinda implausible, especially from a legal angle, but jim is asking your opinion.

what do you think about this proposal?.

All of this sounds good and I am sure many of "us" would have some fun in the process. However, most JWs, border line JWs and XJWs, simply don't have the ability to "stick together" and work together to get the job done. People are too unreliable and lack the courage to take a stand and or force a "showdown" with the indignant, self-righteous elders. Most that have, have left the BORG to keep their sanity and to keep from hurting someone including to just get away from the hypocrisy .....etc............. Besides, who is really trustworthy enough to see this matter to a positive conclusion?

I wrote a letter of complaint about a Witness....

the witness was/is a "racist".

i was told by her that i could not go to the local kingdom hall, or have a copy of the watchtower or awake because i was black.

The Witness was/is a "racist". I was told by her that I could not go to the local Kingdom Hall, or have a copy of the Watchtower or Awake because I was Black. And that the Bible was not for Blacks because they were too dumb to understand it.

I am not a Witness, but had family members who were ones. I "often" do read the Watchtower and Awake articles, and have go to the Kingdom Hall (in other areas) with friends and relatives.

This is the first time I have had this experience. You usally can't stop them from bringing you "more and more" Watchtowers and Awakes once you have taken one they have offered you.

WTS law and oral law

has the wts commited the same folly as the writers of the oral law?

in a magazine some years ago there was an article on the oral law.

it discribed how the oral law was developed to be like a fence around the writen law to prevent ppl from breaking the writen law.the article showed how the priests, who invented the law ,were laying a burden on jehovahs ppl that the didnt need ,sort of saying how wrong and misdirected the priests were.

Persecution of JW's Imminent?

probably dating myself, but remember all those assemblies/yearbooks, etc., that focused on the possibility that jws would suffer persecution at the hands of nazi-like regimes?

i remember attending an assembly which dramatized jw's being held, as in wwii, as having to make a choice to either "renounce?

" their jwism or die.

In answer to the control issue: "Control" is so very important to the society. No matter how it is done!

The Issues...Why do most people take such an inflexible stand?

now that ive left the borg im making up my mind about many social issues and i cant see why people have to be so polarized.

abortion- i dont think we should tell women what to do with their bodies (so im pro-choice there), but i think late term abortions where they just chop the head of a fully developed unborn baby are criminal.

(so im with pro-lifers there).

Answer: Some people CAN think. Some people are scared and don't want to change. Some people cannot think. Some people do not care. Some people want to be lead around in a daze and are in a fantasy land and some people are just assholes.
